Hello fellow ‘poolheads, sworddude here with some breaking news about the upcoming Deadpool movie. The debate has been raging about whether the Deadpool movie will, or even should, have an R-rating. Well, the speculation ends here with this hilarious excerpt from Extra released earlier this month.
The Deadpool character has always had a more adult angle to him. Wade Wilson was a normal human soldier-turned-mercenary when he was diagnosed with cancer. Believing an experimental treatment that would endow him with a healing factor(using Wolverine’s DNA) sould cure him, Wade joined the Weapon X project, but the experiment went awry. Wade’s cancer had been cured, but his skin was turned to pure scar tissue and he was brain-damaged in the process, leaving him with his trademark Deadpool psychosis. Here are some essential reads for you to catch up on your Deadpool lore.
I was among many ‘poolheads out there hoping for an R-rating, as you can read in my last article about the Deadpool movie. I had also made some predictions about the cast, character cameos, and Deadpool being the kickoff for a run of R-rated mutant movies, as it could serve a sort of lead-in movie to the X-Force movie, depending on the plot. The uncensored, leaked HD test footage is also on that page, so I’ll drop a link here for those who still haven’t seen it.
